Man dies when car slams into truck in Holyoke

HOLYOKE – State police say a 23-year-old Springfield man has died after his car slammed into the rear of a disabled tractor trailer on Interstate 91.

Police say Abidan Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene after the accident just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say the victim was driving south in the breakdown lane at high speed. He was alone in the car.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The accident remains under investigation.
