AGAWAM – An 86-year-old man who was injured in a 4 p.m. car accident Sunday on Suffield Street remained in critical condition Monday afternoon, according to Baystate Medical Center.

The man, Paul Morin, had to be removed from the wreckage by the Agawam Fire Department with the Jaws of Life hydraulic equipment.

The driver of the other car, Mikhail Adzhigirey, 20, of Agawam, was also at Baystate where he is listed in good condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Two passengers in Adzhigirey’s vehicle were also injured but their conditions were not available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Agawam police and the Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team.

The preliminary investigation showed Adzhigirey was traveling north on Suffield Street when he collided with Morin’s vehicle.
