AGAWAM – The driver of one car was seriously injured and three other people were also hurt in a two-car accident on Suffield Street, Sunday.

Paul Morin, 86, of Agawam, was taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield by Agawam Fire Department Ambulance with multiple serious injuries after the 3:50 p.m. accident. His condition was not known last night.

The driver of the second car, Mikhail Adzhigirey, 20, of Agawam, and two passengers were also brought to brought to Baystate Medical Center with injuries.

Agawam police, assisted by Massachusetts State Police units, are investigating. Preliminary examinations show Adzhigirey was traveling north on Suffield Street when he collided with Morin’s vehicle. Speed was a factor in the accident, said Agawam Police Lt. Eric Gillis.

A portion of Suffield Street was closed until about 7:30 p.m. because of the accident.
